One of the most common complaints from non-Christians about Christians is that they are too judgemental. Christians think they are above everyone else, too good, better than the “other” sinners out there.
At the end of the day, it turns people off. Who wants to be tied into people who look down at everyone else?
I hate to admit it, but it is true sometimes. We Christians forget we are all sinners, and all children of God. We put ourselves up on a pedistal, and look down at those who don’t have a realtionship with Christ. I’ve been guilty of it, and if you’re a Christian I know you’ve done it too, directly or indirectly.
I pray that Christians can model Jesus’ humbleness. Not once did he ever put Himself above others. He hung out with prostitutes and swindlers. He didn’t apply to the “country club” groups… He visited, talked and listened to the handicapped, emotionally broken and severely poor.
I want to help those who are helpless and realize I need just as much help as they do.
